Jenny Asta Katarina Darmanin (nee Malmberg) was born in Ostersund, a city in the north of Sweden in 1983. She works predominantly in acrylic on canvas and is inspired by nature - in particular human anatomy as well as animal forms.
Her grandfather painted Swedish landscapes in oil while her mother, Lena, followed in her father's footsteps and has been painting in watercolor for several decades. This led Jenny and her two brothers to be encouraged to paint from their early childhood - and ultimately for her to choose to study Art at Racklöfska college in Järpen for 3 years.
JennyAK has been painting portraits and landscapes for family and friends for the last 11 years. During this time she has developed a passion for strong and vibrant colors as well as bold contrast. She lives most of the year in Malta but works on her art during her travels around the world.
